Pie Cherry, Montmorency
America’s favorite tart cherry - the same planted at Mount Vernon by George Washington. Montmorency is a cold hardy pie cherry that is bright red with firm yellow flesh with a good overall disease resistance compared to sweet cherries. Good for fresh eating, drying, juicing, baking, and jam/preserves - an ideal processing variety.
Ripens early July. Mature trees are 10-15’ with a 10-20’ spread. Plant trees 15-20’ apart.
Zone 4. Potted 4’-5’, self-fertile but partners well North Star or Balaton for higher yield of fruit.
Available for ON-FARM PICK UP only.
