Plum, Italian Prune (European)
This freestone European plum produces large, sweet oval fruits with blue skin and golden flesh. Great for fresh eating, cooking, canning and drying. Heavy producer, ripens in early September. Grows to be about 15’ tall. Prefers full sun, well drained soil and is hardy to zones 4. Potted 4-6’ and on standard rootstock. Self pollinating but will produce more fruit with a second variety of plum nearby such as Stanley Prune. Excellent pollinator for other open pollinated plum varieties.
